Abstract

The ARGESIM benchmark C22 ’Non-standard Queuing Policies’ studies three non-standard queues that provide different ways to access entities inside a queue like detaching elements or reorder them: The reneging queue, where entities leave a queue after a given waiting time, the jockeying queue, where entities can switch to another shorter queue, and the classing queue, where at certain times entities with a given attribute ("class") are called to the front of the queue. A special focus lies on the management of concurrent events. The benchmark is especially suited for beginners in the field of discrete event modeling.
